Around and about

Not only has my senior project let me teach to Oakbrook students, but teaching CPR has spread outside of school as well. Tonight at my church's youth club, called the Pathfinders, I was asked by the director if I could teach CPR to the kids ages 10 through 12. Mr. Alan, the director of the Spartanburg Pathfinder club, heard that I was teaching CPR at Oakbrook and he decide that it would be good for the Pathfinders to learn CPR. I taught the CPR class everything went very well! I was not as nervous this time because I know most of the kids in Pathfinders. I had a really fun time teaching them! It always brings a smile on my face when I see the younger children so eager to learn and have fun learning CPR! The kids where a little loud at sometimes. I had to quite them down every now and then, but it was not too bad. I had 10 kids that learned how to save a live! While I was teaching Nick Dawson took pictures for me. Once again I feel so happy that I taught kids how to save a life and I have gained more experience on how to teach my CPR classes at Oakbrook.

As far as scheduling my CPR classes at school I am still planning with Ms. Gillespie and Ms. Howard when I can be able to teach again in their classes. I have planned with them to also teach their classes now and when the new semister starts. I am setting up dates with other teachers so that I can go ahead and plan for the rest of my CPR classes. So far my next CPR class will be sometime after Thanksgiving break.
